Les Alan

Les Alan was born at an early age in Croydon, South London. After finishing school, he studied Design at St.Martins in London. He later taught at London College of Fashion, ‘colour and display’. He has worked as a Freelance Set designer for Thames TV and eventually set up a company in Islington offering Exhibition services.

Les worked as a DJ at nights and weekends at various clubs including ‘The Wiremill’ in East Grinstead and later became a DJ in Greece, even appearing weekly on American Forces radio. He opened Bar/Club in Greece called ‘Troubador’.

After 5 years in Greece, Les came back to UK, got married, had 3 sons and opened a chain of Video shops. He also opened shops in Stamford, Lincolnshie, including ‘Pandora’

In 2002, Les moved to Mijas and opened a jewellery shop, which he later sold before opening ‘Maestro’ an Italian Restaurant in Marbella’s old town. He subsequently sold the restaurant and moved to Nerja and joined ‘Coastline radio’. After the demise of the aforementioned radio station, Les founded ‘97.6 Coast FM Gold’!

Steve Bowman

Steve Bowman is a South London man born and bred. Unfortunately he is still a child in an adult’s body. After an embarrassing misunderstanding with a nun he came, rather hurriedly, to live in Nerja in 2012.
Steve is a keen kayaker and can often be seen off of Burriana Beach being rescued, following some mishap or other. Steve does have a peculier liking of music from Neil Sedaka. In the past Steve has appeared as a contestant in Pets Wins Prizes, where he raced a giant African Land Snail, and had a shower scene as an extra in a hit movie, however this scene ended up, probably correctly, on the cutting room floor. A number of companies have had the misfortune to employ Steve over the past half a century. His greatest failure was as cabin crew on Virgin Atlantic where he lasted a mere three return flights. When Steve is in Nerja, and is not Kayaking, nor presenting his fantastic show, or being an embarrassment, he can be found trekking through the hills surrounding Nerja, practicing his award winning yodelling.
Steve is not proud of having more ear hair than hair on his head.

Dan Sherry

Dan has lived in Nerja for nearly 10 years, after taking a well earned early retirement from local government finance in the north west of England, where he was constantly called upon to referee the political ding dongs between Labour and Conservative councillors.

In Nerja, he started as a regular contributor to Mike Bond's Saturday morning show on RSA radio looking forward to the sporting events of the weekend, and previewing the musical events coming up. He also presented a regular programme of folk and Irish music.

He moved to Coast FM Gold on its inception, where he has been hosting the Breakfast Review for three years, bringing residents and visitors up to date with what is going on back in the UK and Ireland.

A keen high handicap golfer, he is also an avid fan of both Everton and Malaga Football Clubs, and regularly hosts quiz nights in bars around the town.
