Before Joining The Axarquia’s premier English Language Radio Station, Coast Fm Gold 97.6, Danny walked around the town kicking his heels. He was particularly pleased to be offered his own show on the station as in the past, he has always experienced problems speaking English. This is probably why his 20 year “career” working in the theatre and TV in the UK didn’t go quite the way his dear old mum would have hoped.
His appearances in the Theatre over a number of years saw him play roles such as Wang the Water seller (The Good Person of Sichuan, at the Leicester Haymarket), Sven, The Randy Swede (Business Affairs, National Tour) and a number of roles in Panto including giving his ‘Dick’ (‘Dick Whittington’, Buxton Opera House) a performance described by The Derbyshire Evening Bugle as “Hugely satisfying”.
His TV Roles include several appearances over a number of years, in EastEnders, in one of which he played the builder who ‘knocked’ two house into one for Fish and Chip Shop Mogul, Ian Beal ( It only took him one half hour episode by the way). He also made appearances in The Bill (well who hasn’t), 99 to one, Spooks, Kavanagh QC to name but a few. He lives somewhere in Nerja with his wife of 40 years, Mary, proving that there are respectable people working in the media today.
When Danny isn’t researching and presenting his award winning radio programme, ‘Anything Goes’, he pays various local Pop groups to allow him to sing with them.
His only fear is having to live back in the UK.
